I, A.V.V. Koundinya, am working as a scientist in ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Trivandrum. I want to work on drought tolearnce in cassava (Manihot esculenta). I want you clarify some doubts and provide suggestions. I downloaded EST (m RNA sequences) unique to the dehydration stress in cassava. I could not find any SSR regions in these sequences to use them as ESSR markers. Is it necessary to have sequence repeats to use them as markers? or can we use them directly without sequence repeats? Please help.â Thanking you,
